| Dear Parents, Welcome to a new year at Franklin Sherman Elementary School! The Franklin Sherman PTA has a proud tradition of supporting the needs of our school through its financial and volunteer resources. The 2010-2011 school year will be challenging due to the continuing educational budgetary constraints and the commencement of a search for a new principal. As such, we as the parent community of the school have an even greater need to be involved to ensure the educational success of our children, whether it be through participating in the principal selection process, supporting in-school or after-school activities, or donating our time and money. The Franklin Sherman PTA works to enrich our children’s elementary school experiences through a host of activities including the following: · Purchasing needed textbooks and teacher supplies · Sponsoring the Fall Ice Cream Social, Fall Carnival and International Night · Organizing the Thanksgiving luncheon · New family coffees and parent/principal coffees · Organizing after school activities · Sponsoring field trips, Field Day, and cultural arts assemblies Thank you for supporting the Franklin Sherman PTA, and I look forward to all of us working together to create a great year for our children.
